In one of my visits to my former employer, I got a chance to chat with my former colleagues. As always, it was fun, entertaining and enlightening. We were so busy talking and ridiculing one another I was totally clueless of what one of my former colleague was going through.
I learned that his brother was sent to jail in February. When I asked why, he casually said that he killed someone. I thought it was a joke. Who wouldn’t? Killing is not common, is it? But with a sad smile on his face, he told me how his brother, who hadn’t been mentally well since he got addicted to prohibited drugs a decade or so ago, got hold of a big kitchen knife and slammed it down the neck of their cousin who came to check their sink.
It was.. sad and tragic. We knew that his brother hasn’t been well but neither of us thought that he would be extremely harmful. After expressing my sincere sympathy to my friend. I walked away and wished him well..
